London-based experimental electronic duo Delmer Darion have dropped their high-concept new track, ‘Half Mile Down’. The track demonstrates a departure from the sound of their debut album Morning Pageants, with brittle, almost industrial percussive elements grating against the ripple of strings and synths. It’s a juxtaposing sound that somehow manages to form the perfect bed for Slaughter Beach, Dog’s vocal. “The song is anchored around mangled samples from that and tells the story of one of the first-ever deep-sea dives,” they explain. “It’s a song for feeling full of the strange and scary joy of life, and it’s probably the closest thing to a love song we’ll ever write.” Check out the accompanying music video created by Bristol-based Clump Collective. -Dan Peeke
